For the final project of our 3rd Year Visual Communication Course, we were tasked to each create an app. The app had to focus on any type of “wellness”, and for the sake of the project we had to focus mainly on the dashboard and any other pages the dashboard could take you to. The concept I came up with is an app that is made for body builders to use as a planner/ tracker. When it comes to fitness, most of the apps that I have found that are available focus either on dieting, or instructional workout videos. The purpose of the app that I created is for bodybuilders to be able to keep track of their progress in 5 different categories. These categories include: workouts, water intake, calories/ protein intake, sleep, and any supplements they may be taking. For the sake of the requirements of this project and time, the app currently focuses on what a daily log of these categories would look like. I currently plan on using this project as my Senior Thesis, and if that is the case I plan on including other features such as a calendar where the user can look back on their progress, a page showing their overall progress in all categories all in one spot, and include pages where they can learn about different bodybuilding tips and tricks.

First Iterations

Second Round of Iterations

After the second round of iterations I used Optimal Workshop to conduct click tests of the sketches of the wireframes to determine if the layout was working before I moved on to creating the final deliverables in Adobe XD. Overall the click tests were fairly successful and I didn’t change much of the layout considering those who clicked the wrong spot in the tests appeared to click off of the screen as an accident. A PDF of the click test results can be found here:
